Whale Watch España - Tarifa - Spain

Whale Watching

is a tourist, as well as educational activity. It consists of sailing in the Strait of Gibraltar, looking for and identifying the different types of whales and dolphins that live or migrate in this area.

Three different types of dolphins inhabit the recently established Natural Park of the Strait of Gibraltar: Common, Striped and Bottlenose, and they share the habitat with Pilot Whales. Furthermore, Killer Whales, Sperm Whales and Fin Whales migrate through the Strait from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, and vice versa.

The boats depart from two different harbours: Tarifa and Algeciras. The meteorological conditions will decide where to depart from and the boat required. The boat captains are professionals, and the trips are guided by experts in the area, who will help the passengers to find the animals and interpret their behaviour.

Whale Watch España, established in 1996, is a non-profit making association. Its aim is the protection of cetaceans in Spain, by getting to know more about them while observing them in their natural habitat.

The beauty of Whale Watching in the Southernmost point of Europe cannot be described: the animals surround our boats, nosing around and playing at the bow. As the pioneer of the activity, Whale Watch España guarantees its passengers an UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE!
